Review on: Sophie Paris lipstick in Summer Pink

I just recently bought this lipstick because I noticed that I don't have any light pink lipstick and I really wanted to wear one. And I remembered that Sophie Paris lipsticks has a nude pink lipstick which is Summer pink. I have read a lot of good review about this shade and I wanted to try it out myself.

The nearest Sophie Paris Store in our place is just at the gate of our subdivision. Lucky huh? :D

I was super tempt to try it on when I open it and saw the bullet of the lipstick, but I controlled myself because I wanted to take a photo of it with a good condition.

Link of their latest catalog here.

Here is a swatch of it.

I already have Ice Pink shade from the same line. This shade (summer pink) is a little bit lighter than the ice pink I have a review on it here. And both has a cool undertone.

Summer Pink and Ice Pink side by side (I'm sorry if it looks crappy, I accidentally ruined the bullet and never used it again)

2 different looks, wearing the same lipstick.

I was a bit disappointed about the shade I thought it would be a little bit warmer. But then I will still wear it and I still find it pretty.

I would say that I will probably gonna wear this lipstick with a bolder makeup or at least with an eyeliner. This is not the type of lipstick that you can wear on a daily basis with light makeup on or else it will look undone.

Overall thoughts:

GOOD:

  • Very Pigmented
  • Its super Cheap at only 79 pesos
  • Long lasting. This stains your lips so it will not leave your lips as pale at it was. Perfect if you are expecting to eat/drink.
  • Doesn't have a nasty smell. Although it has a scent that I cant describe, it totally tolerable.

BAD:
  • The color is inconsistent. I think It darkens on your lips throughout the day.
  • The design of the tube fades away, that's why I did not totally removed the plastic cover to protect it.
  • Only available at Sophie Paris' store/agent.
Rating: 8/10

Will I repurchase. Probably no. I'll find another lipstick brand for the shade I'm looking for. But I will still wear this occasionally. But If I am going for a statement lips then I would definitely go for this one.

How about you? what do you think of this shade?

Thank you for visiting!

Summer Makeup Tutorial

Its summer time! I know 75% of the year is like summer here in the Philippines, since our country is a tropical one. But during this time of the year it gets more humid. About a week ago I did a makeup tutorial on YouTube for summer makeup. I first uploaded a video on my channel last year, and I cant believe it has been a year and I haven't updated my channel yet. I don't know, maybe I just got lazy... :D BUT I will surely upload videos more often now. Actually I already filmed 2 tutorials(Formal event make up&Sock bun hair), I am just having problem on rendering it. Its probably gonna be up next week. So if want to, you could subscribe to my channel

Anyway, This look is perfect during summer or spring time. This will absolutely look gorgeous during the day time especially when the sun hits you face (just don't forget to wear sunscreen!).

Here are some snapshots of the video:

I used super affordable makeup. :D Here is the list:

Pinkies Collection foundation in CFC-03
Maybelline All in one foundation

Miss beauty 3d Eyeshadow
Careline Eyeshadow pallet

Avon ideal oil control in natural (as blusher)
Carline Blusher in Girly frill

Nichido black pencil

Sophie Martin Lipstick in Velvet nude
Avon lipstick in Lucky orange

Careline's Fruitilicious Wet lips Review

I've been seeing this at Watsons all the time but didn't paid attention because I've never been a fan of WET-LIPS-LOOK :) But then last week I bought one, just for a change :D And I think this will look good with my Sophie Martin's lipstick in Velvet nude.

Plus another reason is that I'm a huge fan of retro era, that's why I subscribe to websites that has a retro theme. This kind of reminds me of Maybelline's Kissing potion in 70's. I saw this at  retronaut. If you like rerto too the better check out thier website here's the link! :)

I got mine in Watermelon because I thought its gonna add a peach hue on my lips, but I was wrong, it has no color at all. I think the reason why it was named Watermelon is because it smells like a Watermelon. They also have strawberry? I'm not sure but its color pink.

For additional information here is what written at the back of it. As you can see It is a Lip moisturizer.

I applied the product on my bare lips, and this is what it looks like.

Here I applied a lipstick by Sophie Martin in Velvet nude

then I generously applied  Careline's Fruitilicious Wet lips on top of it.

Some of the lipstick transfers to the roll-on

Then I just wiped it with a tissue paper

Now its time for me to say my opinion :D

GOOD:
  • It's cheap, available for only 55 pesos.
  • Available at leading drugstores and also at ever bilena's dealer.
  • Doesn't change the color of my lipstick.
  • Perfect for people who hates chapped lips! :D in my opinion this is better than any lipbalm.

BAD:
  • It mixes up with my lipstick. Then it transfers to the ball. What I do is wipe it with a tissue before putting back the cap.
  • It has a sweet smell of watermelon. Some people may not find this comfortable.
My Rating: 8/10 :D
=Because it does its job well and its super cheap.

Will I repurchase? Yes.

That's all! I was happy that I purchased this. This will always be in my make up bag everyday. :D Do you have this too? do you like it? Let me know, comment it down below :D

Thank you so much for reading!

Sophie Martin Lipstick Review

I first saw these lipsticks in my mother's makeup bag. And when I tried it I didn't like the shade (Ice Pink), because I think it doesn't suit me well. But after 2 years , I saw this in their brochure and found out that it has   9 more shades. I decided to buy one because its cheap (79 php) and very pigmented. I bought Russian Red because I love red lipsticks, I think red really makes someones look more awake and healthy. But the For school red isn't really advisable because its scandalous :) so I decided to get velvet nude. And my mom gave me Ice Pink. I wish to complete their shade I will update you if I do have them all :)

In case you're wondering here is the Ingredients description in the seal. I can't barely read the text, I hope I got all the words correct.
Castor (Rocinus Communis), Oil, Isopropyl Myristate, Lanolyn Anhydrous, Ceresin, Polyethyiene wax,  Carnauba (Capernicla Cerifera) wax, Candelila (Europhorola Cerifera) wax, Lanolin Oil, Octyldodecanol, Caprylic/Capric Tiglycarid, Beeswax, Avocado (Persea Gratissima) Oil, Fragrance BHT, Propylparaben.

Then as of now, here are the shades that I have.
(Velvet Nude,         Russian Red,        Ice Pink)
Top: Russian Red, Mid:Velvet Nude, Bottom: Ice Pink

Russian Red

This one is a deep red color even though it kinda looks bright in the pic. This reminds me of 1920's red lipstick. Perfect for retro look. It has a blue hue which makes my teeth lighter :D

Ice Pink

This is their best seller. Its kinda neon pink, bright pink. I'm really not a fan of pink lipstick so I have nothing much to say. :D If you're a fan of pink lipstick well you must try this!

Velvet Nude

This one is my current favorite. Its perfect with my Ever Bilena blusher in earth (which Im wearing in the pic). I've always been afraid to try nude lipsticks because I think "pale-lips-look" is not for me, but this one is different. Its not that pale and its not that loud perfect for everyday use.

Here are my observations regarding this lipsticks:

GOOD:

  • Very Pigmented
  • Cheap, its only 79 pesos
  • It lasts long on the lips. It can even survive a meal :)
  • It has 10 other wonderful shades
  • Doesn't have a weird smell.
BAD:
  • Can be a bit drying, but a lip balm(im using babylips by maybeline) can solve the problem or even a lip gloss if you like.
  • Only available at Sophie Martin's distributor.
  • The design of the tube fades away quickly.

My Rating: 4/5 :D I will surely repurchase and will complete the whole set :D
