Quick DIY: Repaint your brush!

Do you have a nice makeup brush but the design is just not you? Or maybe you're just bored at them? Don't be afraid to repaint them! Let me show you how in 2 easy steps.

Last year my sister bought me these awesome brushes from Careline. The blush brush is super soft, perfect to set powder. But what's kinda bothering me was the design printed on it's handle. It's super girly and malakas maka 12 year old LOL! :)

That's why i decided to repaint them. I also have couple of brushes left that needs to be repainted. So I decided to blog this to maybe inspire you to paint yours too.☺

Before

Here is what you'll need:
1. Hanger - We will use this to hang our brush and let dry.

2. Nail Polish - Choose the color/design of your choice. It doesn't have to be a topnotch nail polish for as long as its pigmented enough, it will do.  ☺

3. The brush - And of course the

Step 1. Paint the handle of the brush. I applied two layers of the nail polish to make the design opaque.

Step 2. Hang the brush. Depending on the type of brush, you could attach a string to the brush and clip it. But in my case I'm just gonna clip it directly.

Then we are done! I you're feeling crafty enough bring on some nail art action! It'll make you brush unique and pretty. :D

Thank you so much for dropping by my blog.

DIY: Memory Box from a Tabacco Container.

Here is a tabacco container that I bought from a garage sale while visitng my grandma at Calamba City. There are lots of stuff there like accessories, clothes, DVDs, and containers. And this is what caught my eye the most. If you were able to read my previous post you might already know that I am a huge fan of retro era from 1920's to 1950's. This really looks super OLD and Vintage-ish :D

I only paid PHP 20 for this container :D

I did replace the ugly looking green felt paper to a new black felt paper which is only PHP 20. :)

Then to lessen the sound that it makes when closing it, I decided to glue a felt paper on the edge.

On the top part, I just painted it black to match the black felt paper.

And this is the black paint. I got this with a set which is a bit expensive but you can individually purchase it at PHP 35 I think? Basta mga ganon...

And this is the pait brush that I use. This also comes in a set but its super cheap. I got this for PHP 18.00.

While waiting for it to dry, I am eating these chunky cookies. I don't know what this was called but its super yummy and sweet.

Top: Felt Paper. Bottom: A picture that I cut out of a magazine.

TADA! here is the end product! :D

I hope you guys find this helpful/entertaining. Do you also love to check out a Garage Sale, Thrift Store, or Ukay-ukay? Me I love going to those places places because you'll see the most unexpected things ever :D

DIY: Bottle Chandelier

Do It Yourself Bottle Chandelier

This was one of my project for my history of arts class. My professor come up with the idea of using recycled materials for our final project. I remembered the bottle chandelier that I saw in one of radass post. I decided to do something like that. :D It caught my attention because its so beautiful and kind of gives me an enchanting feeling?

Anyway, if you're bored on a friday night and you've got enough bottles, why not try this? This looks good on a romantic dinner, or even a family affair its up to you :D Let me just share you what I did step by step. I hope that this will be helpful. If you have question don't hesitate to leave a comment ;)

Here are the things that I used:

  • 3 bottles (at least, if you want more than this well then theres no problem :) )
  • Wire (how long? it depends on how many bottles you'll use)
  • Cover of the electric fan wheel (This one is optional if you have a better Idea then you could just do that)
  • Candles (I recommend the small ones like this. How many? depending on the number of bottles)
  • Paint
  • Paint brush
  • Scissors
  • needle and thread
  • beads
  • plies

Lets get started! :D

1. Make sure that your bottles are clean.
2. Start measuring the the wire around the opening of the bottle. Like this. Then cut it using the plies. This will support the handle. (I completely forgot to take a photo of this step, but this is what I'm trying to say :D )

3. Then measure how tall the handle will be then cut it.

4. Then secure it together.

5. Then super secure it to the bottles :D Using the plies. make sure that its not loose so that the bottle will not fall.

6. Lets move on to the top part. I just estimated how long the top handle will be then cut it. I added some beads :D

7. the insert the ends to the hole of the electric fan cover.

8. Then secure it.

9. I added a garland around the bottles

10. Now you could paint any color to it :)

This will be the wire that will connect the handle of the bottle to the top cover

11. I used a needle to create this because its easier :D

12. I started in the middle because its easier to balance the beads.

13. Then you can now connect them :D

14. Then put a bit of water inside so that the melted candles will not stick to your bottle. It'll be easier for you to clean it.

TADA! here's the end product! :D
